Responsible for day to day management decisions and implementing and monitoring Swan Advocacy's strategic plan, Gerry acts as the direct liaison between the Board of Trustees and Leadership team.
In her spare time Gerry enjoys watching cricket and follows England and Somerset. At weekends she can often be found exploring hills or beaches in the South West.
Jo joined Swan Advocacy as Mental Health Manager in 2009 and was promoted to Director of Operations in 2013. Jo is a qualified IMHA and IMCA & IMCA/DoLS and holds various Management qualifications.
In her spare time Jo likes to spend time with her family, including her five grandchildren, her partner and two dogs, walking, camping and enjoying the countryside where she lives.
Responsible for fundraising and diversifying our income streams, Niki also works with operational teams to design, develop and implement new services and projects.
A member of the Institute of Fundraising and Chartered Institute of Marketing, Niki was recently awarded a Diploma in Fundraising. In her spare time she enjoys attending music festivals, hiking with her dog and watching superhero movies.
Kelly is responsible for Finance and Human Resources within the organisation. She works closely with Niki and Jo to develop and monitor service budgets.
A member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), in her spare time Kelly likes to spend time with her family and enjoys running.
Lindsey manages our Dementia Advocacy Service. An experienced advocate and manager, she leads our team of paid and volunteer Dementia Advocates.
Lindsey is passionate about the development and delivery of advocacy services for people with dementia and their carers.
Claire worked for 14 years in Social Services as an officer for residential and domiciliary services before moving to the Community Mental Health Team in another locality.
Claire was a Senior Advocate providing IMCA, IMHA and generic mental health before joining us to manage our Care Act and Generic Advocacy Service.
Benita, a highly experienced advocate and manager, leads our Mental Capacity, Deprivation of Liberty and Paid Representative advocacy team. She is a qualified NVQ Assessor and trainer.
Benita is a trustee for another voluntary sector organisation and in her spare time enjoys singing in two choirs and gardening.
Andy heads up the Independent Health Complaints Advocacy service in Somerset and South Gloucestershire. He has been working in health complaints advocacy since 2006 & joined Swan Advocacy in 2013; he is a qualified IMHA.
Andy is also a musician and spends his spare time playing gigs and festivals with several bands. He lives in the middle of nowhere with his partner and two dogs.
Toyah’s background is in health and social care where she worked with vulnerable people on a daily basis as part of her role. She manages all our mental health advocacy provision.
Toyah’s hobbies include walking in the country with her puppy, reading, exercising and relaxing!
