Responsible for day to day management decisions and implementing and monitoring Swan Advocacy's strategic plan, Gerry acts as the direct liaison between the Board of Trustees and Leadership team.
In her spare time Gerry enjoys watching cricket and follows England and Somerset. At weekends she can often be found exploring hills or beaches in the South West.
Jo joined Swan Advocacy as Mental Health Manager in 2009 and was promoted to Director of Advocacy in 2013. She is responsible for all our statutory advocacy contracts. Jo is a qualified IMHA and IMCA & IMCA/DoLS and holds various Management qualifications.
In her spare time Jo likes to spend time with her family, including her five grandchildren, her partner and two dogs, walking, camping and enjoying the countryside where she lives.
Niki is responsible for business development, diversifying our income streams and operational management of our development services, including the new Victims of Crime Advocacy service. She works with beneficiaries, staff and stakeholders to design, develop and implement new services and projects.
A member of the Institute of Fundraising and Chartered Institute of Marketing, Niki was recently awarded a Diploma in Fundraising. In her spare time she enjoys attending music festivals, hiking with her dog and watching superhero movies.
Kelly is responsible for Finance and Human Resources within the organisation. She works closely with Niki and Jo to develop and monitor service budgets.
A member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), in her spare time Kelly likes to spend time with her family and enjoys running.
Sarah joined Swan in 2017 having taken early retirement from the British Red Cross. A Social Worker by profession she has spent the last 40 years working for Local Authorities or Voluntary Organisations. Sarah is responsible for the quality and performance of the organisation and takes the lead in ensuring we retain the Advocacy Quality Performance Mark.
When not working she supports her son’s professional hockey career, walks her dog, reads books and is an active member of Rock Choir.
Claire is responsible for all training and training development for Swan. She is also the City & Guilds Assessor for the Independent Advocacy Diploma or Certificate for all advocacy staff and volunteers working in advocacy roles for Swan.
Claire holds the Diploma in Independent Advocacy herself and was previously a Regional manager for Swan. Claire worked across all statutory advocacy disciplines roles as an Independent Advocate, but made the switch to training and assessment last year. She is passionate about passing on skills and experience to other colleagues for the advocacy role.
When not working, Claire enjoys doing her photography projects and is a published photographer.
Lindsey manages our Dementia Advocacy Service, Be Heard in BaNES and Wiltshire Citizens Advice Advocacy projects. An experienced advocate and manager, she leads our teams of paid and volunteer Advocates. She will also be responsible for our new Victims of Crime Advocacy service.
Lindsey is passionate about the development and delivery of advocacy services for vulnerable people and their carers.
Andy is responsible for supporting and managing the Team Leaders across Swan's advocacy disciplines in South Gloucestershire and Bath and North East Somerset. He has worked in health complaints advocacy since 2006, joined Swan Advocacy in 2013 and is a qualified IMHA.
Andy is also a musician and spends his spare time playing gigs and festivals with several bands. He lives in the middle of nowhere with his partner and two dogs.
Anna is responsible for supporting and managing the Team Leaders across Swan's advocacy disciplines in Somerset. Before joining Swan Anna worked within Health and Social Care settings in senior positions and has a wealth of experience supporting people who are unable to communicate their needs and wishes and was a strong advocate for those in her care. Anna has a degree in Management and is trained in Makaton.
Anna recently ran her own business in sensory story classes for babies and toddlers and still has a passion for aiding children’s development. In her spare time she enjoys going to the cinema, reading a variety of books and upcycling.
